Family Equality & Ourshelves are excited to highlight one of our favorite stories: When Aidan Became a Brother. Join author Kyle Lukoff for an exclusive storytime, then stick around for a drawing activity with illustrator Kaylani Juanita. You won’t want to miss this awesome opportunity! Kaylani Juanita is a picture book illustrator and writer. She received the Stonewall Book Award 2020 for WHEN AIDAN BECAME A BROTHER and a Coretta Scott King Illustration Honor 2021 for MAGNIFICENT HOMESPUN BROWN (written by Samara Cole Doyon). Follow Kaylani on Instagram to learn more. 

Kyle Lukoff is a children’s book author and former librarian. He has written several books including a new middle-grade novel TOO BRIGHT TO SEE as well as WHEN AIDAN BECAME A BROTHER, for which he also received the 2020 Stonewall Book Award. Follow Kyle on Facebook, and Twitter to learn more.
