A new LGBT book series created by Rainbow Rumpus has just released a new title in their collection of free, downloadable books. “Breaking the Birthday Rules,” tells the story of a child who wonders why he wasn’t invited to a friend’s birthday party.
The book is the latest in a series created to help introduce stories about LGBT families into classrooms in order to create a welcoming environment for children from all types of families.
Teachers have found the books to be a valuable resource while many children and parents have been happy to find stories that reflect their own lives at home.
