A specialist in the field of reproductive medicine, adoption and family building options since 1986, she became a founding member of Resolve of Greater Los Angeles in 1987 and served on the Board of Directors in various positions for the next 14 years.

Ms. Lieber Wilkins is well known for her work regarding disclosure of information to children, having helped hundreds of patients feel comfortable about talking with their kids about how they built their families. Many clinics and practitioners around the world distribute to patients her groundbreaking article, Talking With Children About Their Conception. She has lectured locally and nationally, on many subjects related to infertility. She has been the keynote speaker at several Resolve symposia, and a presenter at the professional meetings of the American Psychological Association, The American Society of Reproductive Medicine, Organon Nurses Symposia and Kaiser Hospitals.

Carole is a member of the American Society of Reproductive Medicine Mental Health Professional Group, California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists, and a professional member of both Resolve and Path2Parenthood. Biography

Dr. Carolyn Alexander is a passionate physician who is inspired by getting to know her patients. She is double board-certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology as well as Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility. Dr. Alexander’s main clinical interests include the treatment of polycystic ovary syndrome, endometriosis, unexplained infertility and recurrent pregnancy loss. Additionally, she works closely with oncologists on the fertility preservation of patients who are about to undergo chemotherapy.

Born and raised in Los Angeles, Calif., Dr. Alexander received her bachelor's degree from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) and her medical degree from the UCLA David Geffen School of Medicine. She proceeded to complete both her residency in obstetrics and gynecology as well as her fellowship in reproductive endocrinology and infertility at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. She was previously Associate Residency Program Director in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, where she mentored more than 40 residents over the past decade and won multiple teaching awards.

Dr. Alexander has authored and co-authored numerous articles for peer-reviewed and other publications, including Fertility and Sterility and International Journal of Gynecological Cancer. She has lectured internationally and is a member of several professional societies, including the American Society for Reproductive Medicine and the Endocrine Society. In addition, she participated in a multicenter study for which preliminary data was published in Science. This study evaluated patients' perceptions of embryo cryopreservation with the goal of improving patient care.

Dr. Alexander highly values the bond between patient and physician and strives to give a personal touch to her patients. As part of her philanthropic endeavors, she has participated in the March of Dimes and is also a part of the ASRM’s Women’s Counsel. When she’s not working with patients, Dr. Alexander enjoys spending her time with her husband and two boys, as well as hiking and reading.

She has a private practice in Manhattan and Larchmont, NY, where she helps couples, singles and members of the LGBT community create families both through fertility treatment and adoption. 

Carolyn works closely with fertility doctors, complementary and alternative medicine specialists, and adoption agencies/attorneys.  She helps her clients find the professionals who are right for them.

Carolyn’s decision to help people struggling to build families came from her own experience with infertility.  Her family was created through fertility treatment and adoption.  She has spoken and written widely on both adoption and infertility.
