Bradley Trivax, M.D., Chair

Bradley Trivax, M.D., is a board-certified Reproductive Endocrinology and Fertility Specialist who has earned the respect and admiration of his patients and his colleagues for his compassionate care and clinical expertise. As a partner with Reproductive Specialists of New York in Long Island and Brooklyn, Dr. Trivax has sought to balance the delivery of cutting-edge fertility treatment with compassion and empathy.

An honors graduate of the University of Michigan, Dr. Trivax earned his medical doctorate at Wayne State University School of Medicine and completed his residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Winthrop University Hospital. Dr. Trivax completed a three-year subspecialty fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at UCLA Medical Center and Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, where he was the recipient of the Outstanding Laparoendoscopic Award. Dr. Trivax excels in minimally-invasive surgical treatments for the management of fibroids, endometriosis, and uterine abnormalities.

Dr. Trivax has received multiple academic honors and teaching awards. While his passion is helping patients build families, he is very active in medical school education and residency learning. Dr. Trivax is currently an Assistant Clinical Professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Stony Brook University of New York, Winthrop University Hospital, and the Brooklyn Hospital Center.

Dr. Trivax enjoys lecturing on all topics pertaining to infertility and has done so both nationally and internationally. Dr. Trivax has an extensive bibliography of publications and presentations, including critical evaluations of the Polycystic Ovary Syndrome, pre-implantation genetic diagnosis, and in-vitro fertilization.

While born and raised in Michigan, the energy, culture, and people of New York City lured him to the Big Apple. Dr. Trivax lives on Long Island with wife, Tracy, and stays busy chasing around their five children--Landon, Lennox, Lawson, Liv, and Lake.

Natan Bar-Chama, M.D.

Dr. Natan Bar-Chama is the Director of the Center of Male Reproductive Health at RMA of New York. He is also the Director of Male Reproductive Medicine and Surgery at Mount Sinai Hospital and is an associated professor of urology at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine. His subspecialty clinical practice is exclusively dedicated to male reproductive medicine and microsurgical reconstruction for the treatment of male-factor infertility (vasovasostomy, varicocelectomy, testicular and epididymal sperm retrieval, and vasectomy). Dr. Bar-Chama is a board certified urologist who received his medical degree with special distinction for research in male infertility and completed his urology residency at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Dr. Bar-Chama was awarded the prestigious New York Academy of Medicine F.C. Valentine Fellowship and received subspecialty training in male reproductive medicine and surgery at the Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas.

In 1998, Dr. Bar-Chama received the Pfizer Scholars in Urology Award for leadership, innovation, and outstanding achievement in urological science. He was recently awarded the 2008 Humanitarian Award by Bonei Olam. Dr. Bar-Chama serves on the Board of Directors of Path2Parenthood and was awarded the Path2Parenthood Family Building Award in 2000. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Society for Male Reproduction and Urology (SMRU) of the American Society of Reproductive Medicine (ASRM) as well as on the Board of Directors of the Society for the Study of Male Reproduction (SSMR). Since 2005, Dr. Bar-Chama has been listed every year in New York Magazine’s “Best Doctors” issue as a top urologist, including the recently released 2009 list.

Angeline N. Beltsos, M.D.

Dr. Angeline Beltsos is Board Certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility (REI), and has been practicing medicine since 1991. She completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Loyola University in 1995 followed by a fellowship in REI at Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri completed in 1997.

Dr. Beltsos is the Fertility Centers of Illinois Clinical Research Division Director and participates in a number of research projects and scientific publications. She has received numerous awards in teaching and for several years has been honored as ‘Top Doctor’ from the prestigious publisher Castle Connelly. Her special interests include helping women over 40 achieve pregnancy, as well as preimplantation genetic diagnosis or screening.

Shahin Ghadir, M.D.

Dr. Shahin Ghadir is dedicated to helping patients overcome their reproductive challenges and infertility issues to achieve their goal of having children. A true visionary, he is inspired by the idea of both giving life and bringing life into the world.

As a founding partner of Southern California Reproductive Center, Dr. Ghadir is double board-certified in both Obstetrics and Gynecology as well as Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility. He is currently an Assistant Clinical Professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA and also at the Keck School of Medicine at USC.

A native Angeleno, Dr. Ghadir earned his bachelor’s degree with cum laude in psychology from UCLA, and his medical degree from the Central University School of Medicine, where he graduated summa cum laude and was ranked first in his class. He completed his residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the Kaiser Permanente Los Angeles Medical Center, as well as a three-year subspecialty fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at the combined UCLA and Cedars-Sinai Medical Center program. He has received many academic awards and honors over the years, including a distinguished residency teaching award and community service recognition award.

A very popular, approachable and well-liked fertility specialist, Dr. Ghadir’s expertise has been featured nationally and internationally in the Los Angeles Times, Redbook, People Magazine, Beverly Hills Weekly, Antelope Valley Press, Fox News, ABC, BBC, Telemundo, Univision, The Bump, Marie Claire Russia as well as listed among Los Angeles Magazine’s “2014 Super Doctors,” among many others. In addition to appearances on several television shows, his expertise is sought after among the LGBT media as well, including The Fight, The Mirror, Frontiers LA, The Bay Area Reporter, South Florida Gay News and 429 Magazine, among many others. More than his strong work ethic, Dr. Ghadir has built a reputation as a compassionate, responsive and hand-holding physician.

A strong believer in preparing for the future, Dr. Ghadir is committed to helping patients retain their future fertility options - Whether it is egg freezing or embryo freezing or even when preparing for medical treatments that can affect reproduction, such as chemotherapy. His desire to help is what motivates his philanthropic efforts to as a volunteer speaker with Fertile Hope - a national, nonprofit organization (now part of the Lance Armstrong Foundation) that provides education, support and hope for cancer patients whose medical care raises risks of infertility. In addition to being the President & founder of the non-profit, Fertility For All, Dr. Ghadir also serves as a speaker for the Healthy Family Community Awareness Lecture Program and Extend Fertility, a woman-run company that provides egg freezing services.

Dr. Ghadir is a huge advocate for the LGBT (Gay/Lesbian/Bi/Transgendered) community and offers sensitive fertility treatment plans to address their various needs. He is a supporter of the Family Equality Council and has helped hundreds of LGBT couples and individuals start their families.

A scientist at heart, Dr. Ghadir has conducted considerable original research on women’s health issues such as polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), the treatments of fibroids in fertility, adhesion therapies as well as research in the area of sexual health. Additionally, he frequently lectures both nationally & internationally on all aspects of fertility treatments.

A published author, his papers are found in peer-reviewed journals including Fertility and Sterility and The New England Journal of Medicine, as well as clinical journals such as Sexuality, Reproduction & Menopause. He is also a contributing author of the Infertility section of the new McGraw-Hill reference, Current Obstetric & Gynecologic Diagnosis and Treatment. Furthermore, Dr. Ghadir also served as a consultant for the infertility section of the bestselling pregnancy guide, “What to Expect When You’re Expecting.”

His fluency in English, Spanish and Farsi, combined with a lifetime of interactions with the diverse communities of Los Angeles, give him a unique cultural sensitivity that draws in patients from around the world. Dr. Ghadir lives in Los Angeles with his wife, Jessica, and three children (a daughter and twins (boy and girl).

Laurence A. Jacob, M.D.

Dr. Laurence A. Jacobs is a Mayo Clinic-trained Reproductive Endocrinologist and Board Certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility (REI). He has been practicing medicine since 1975. He completed medical school and an Obstetrics and Gynecology residency at Northwestern University, and then went on to complete a fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at the Mayo Clinic in 1988. He has been honored as ‘Top Doctor’ by the prestigious publisher Castle Connolly in all of its editions of “America’s Top Doctors” from 2001-2014 and ‘Chicago’s Top Doctors’ from 2001-2014. Dr. Jacobs’ own experience as a former fertility patient allows him to empathize with his patients and provide the support and encouragement needed.

Alan Penzias, M.D.

Dr. Penzias received his undergraduate degree from the University of Pennsylvania and his medical degree from SUNY – Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY. He completed his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital and Harvard Medical School and his fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at Yale University School of Medicine.

Dr. Penzias is board Certified in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. He is an active member of almost a dozen infertility and medical societies and is on the Board of Directors of Path2Parenthood and is a member of the Executive Counsel of the Society for Assisted Reproductive Technologies.

Aaron Spitz, M.D.

Dr. Spitz received his medical degree from Cornell University Medical College, New York, NY. He completed his Urology residency at the Los Angeles County /University of Southern California Medical Center. Dr Spitz completed a fellowship in Male Reproductive Medicine and Surgery at the Baylor College of Medicine.

Dr Spitz is a Board Certified Urologist with a broad based general urology practice. Dr Spitz is an Associate Professor of Urology at U.C. Irvine Medical Center. Dr Spitz is also a nationally recognized expert on vasectomy and has authored several peer reviewed journal articles and chapters regarding treatments for male fertility.
